A group has taken volunteer vacations trips to Channel Islands National Park off of Ventura, they went rafting down the Green River in Dinosaur National Park, they hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and they spent a week working in Yosemite and camping in the valley. Some members of the group have gone to Haleakela National Park on Maui twice, but my schedule hasn’t allowed me to go there yet. For all these work trips, the Park Service helped with or provided transportation (except they didn’t cover airfare to Maui), most or all of the meals while we were at the destination, and campsites.

When we were growing up, the only vacations we ever went on consisted of either: 1. going to visit out of state relatives for 4 or 5 days and staying with them at their house. 2.
